Confronting Cyber-Trafficking & Scam Farms
A modern form of slavery, hiding in plain sight on our phones.
Cyber-trafficking is the fastest-growing form of human trafficking of our time. Victims are lured with fake job offers, then trafficked into fortified compounds across Southeast Asia where they are forced — under threat of violence — to run online romance scams, crypto frauds, and pig-butchering schemes targeting people worldwide.
The UN estimates at least 220,000 people are currently held in these scam compounds. The proceeds have grown to tens of billions of dollars annually. Behind every scam message is often another victim — coerced into perpetrating the crime.
I use my platform, my technical expertise, and my voice to expose this crisis and advocate for the survivors. This work is not separate from cybersecurity — it is cybersecurity, at its most human.
